Memory Leak

Windows has way too many ‘temp’ directories … you have temp, windows temp, cookies, then the cache files for the browsers … … and if you have more than one browser, watch out!

Well, I discovered a new one today … which is odd, because I’m usually fairly on top of things like this – keeping the machine running smoothly and all.

I recently located the another temp directory located at:
C:..Documents and Settings..(user name)..Local Settings..Temp

Finding it wasn’t the worst part – the fact that it had accumulated 410MB of temporary information over the past two months really surprised me. Most programs will use temp directories and then remove their installers when they’re done installing or whatever.

One more place to check when cleaning house.
